Helping users complete payment in Yandex.Fuel

Problem

The business decided to scale to Western and Asian markets which meant a need for (a) UI localization; (b) consistent cross-product CX.

Users asked for Dark UI Theme.

Development team needed to (a) streamline their delivery process to speed up Time To Market (TMT); (b) single tech stack.

Current implementation and operational procedures put the company at risk of not meeting its strategic goals and needs.

Problem manifestations

  1. Falling behind schedule, while technical debt continued to grow;

  2. Missing the opportunity to reuse existing UI patterns when appropriate;

  3. Labour consuming design reviews and bug-fixing.

Negative outcomes

  1. Lost revenue if not delivering on time;

  2. Decreased customer retention and revenue for poor CX;

  3. Decreased employees retention.

The goal

  1. Ensure consistent cross-product CX;

  2. Maximize UI patterns reuse;

  3. Minimize detaching of components and deviating from code-base;

  4. Allow functionality scaling;

  5. Unblock UI localization;

  6. Unblock opportunity to scale any kind of colors themes in no time;

  7. Decrease Time To Market (TMT) and time spent for design review and bug-fixing.
